The Municipal Clerk’s Office is located in the Municipal Building, 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas and is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. excluding holidays. The office is staffed by Claudia Kammer, Municipal Clerk, Colleen Horwath, Assistant Municipal Clerk/Dep. Registrar, June Ford, Clerk/Receptionist and Patricia Severson, Clerk/Registrar.
It is a public service office that performs a wide variety of department functions and citizen services with the main objective to provide prompt and courteous service to the citizens of Lower Township.
The Municipal Clerk is entrusted with numerous and diverse duties under both State law and local ordinances. The Municipal Clerk serves as secretary to the Governing Body, secretary to the Municipal Corporation, Election Official (under Title 19), and Administrative Official at the municipal government level.
In addition the Clerk's Office maintains records including all resolutions, ordinances, agendas, and minutes for the municipality, is the registrar of voters for the municipality administers local elections and issues the licenses/permits listed below.
Vital Records
The Registrar maintains permanent copies of birth, marriage & death records recorded in the Township are maintained by the Registrar. Applications for a Marriage or Civil Union license for Lower Township residents or out of state residents wishing to have their ceremony in Lower Township’s municipal boundaries can be obtained in the Clerk’s Office. The application & requirement information is available online. Applicants may print the Marriage/Civil Union application and complete side one, side two must be completed by the applicants and a witness 18 or older at the Clerk’s Office. Proper documentation for both applicants and the witness must be provided for the Registrar’s review upon the filing of the application.
